Waterjet cutting involves passing water through a small diameter nozzle at very high pressure. The waterjet travels at speeds up to 900 m/sec, with sufficient kinetic energy to cut a wide range of materials. If sand is added, an abrasive effect occurs that allows the waterjet to cut hard materials such as metal and stone.
WaterJet
Pure Watejet
Eurobotik designs single or multiple robot cutting solutions for pure water jet cutting to meet the needs of customers in different sectors such as automotive, food industry.
The water at a speed of 600 to 900 meters / second is raised to 2,000 to 4,000 bars and directed to an accumulator through an ultrahigh-pressure pump, and then passed through a nozzle with a diameter of 0.1 to 0.4 mm. This process is used to cut thin soft materials such as plastic, composite, rubber, foam styrofoam, sound insulation materials.
Abrasive Waterjet
The principle of cutting by water jet loaded with abrasive consists of spraying abrasive at high speed on the material to be cut. The water is compressed from 2000 to 4000 bar and used to propel the abrasive through a specific cutting head with a mixing chamber. Abrasive water jet will cut hard materials without thermal stress in cutting such as steel, titanium, aluminum, marble, glass. This process is actually the only way to cut laminates consisting of materials with different melting points. It is possible to machine steel that has a thickness of up to 50 mm or other metals with up to 120 mm.
The flexibility of Eurobotic’s robotic systems allows manufacturers to make the most of their capital investments. All of Eurobotik’s water jet cutting solutions are safe, cost-effective and highly efficient.
